Come try a collection of Blancos from around the world. This collection will take us on a tour of the largest wine making countries, BUT into some of the more elusive and austere creations. These wines are found off the beaten path. They belong to the B-Side. The producers have found some mind-bending flavors which have a place among the best bottles on the shelf. We will find more mouthwatering acid, than check pinching oak. Look more for slate, honey wax, and apples than cherries and berries. Come and help us enjoy these Interesting White wines from around the world.

Ducourt, Blanc Lime Le Gout d'Autrefois, France

Exoticism in the glass: banana, peach, lemon and light green notes of basil tickle the nose. Fresh, mildly sparkling and appetizing. A tradition from the SW of France.

Aveleda, Vinho Verde, Dao Portugal, 2016

Straw pale color, a complex flowery aroma, with accents of peaches and tropical fruits. On the palate, this wine presents a very fresh soft and silky elegancy, revealing hints of spicy citrine flavors

Evohe, Garnacha Blanca, Bajo Aragon, Spain 2013

The Spectrum of Aromas for this varietal is Floral, Citrus and Herbs. A profile that marinates very well with light fish dishes, but also vegetarian foods, though not to discard, an excellent aperitif wine.

Nada, Langhe Bianco, Langhe Italy, 2014

Another PQR gem, a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Arneis, this is Italy's version of Sancerre. Light straw in color, with a soft nose, that displays hints of citrus, rubber and sea salt. Lemons, river stone, ocean, fresh cut grass, and neutral acidity with a medium finish. The mouthfeel is plush for a wine with searing minerality.

Patricia Greene, Dry Muscat Ottonel, Willamette Valley OR, 2015

This exotic varietal is produced in a bone-dry style showcasing its elegance and fragrance of pear blossoms and white flowers. This is generally a lower acid grape and while it is far from high in acid it has a nice lift and snap to it that makes for a refreshing, almost thirst-quenching sort of beverage

Château Grillon, Sauternes, Bordeaux France, 2011

Breathtaking bouquet of honey, white peach, citrus marmalade, oilcloth, butterscotch, and vanilla. Balanced, viscous flavors with good sweetness. Cluster fermented.
