Wine tasting. Sauvignon Blancs.

Super Sauvignon Blanc

Sauvignon blanc is a green-skinned grape variety that originates from the Bordeaux region of France. The grape most likely gets its name from the French words sauvage ("wild") and blanc ("white"). Sav blanc is planted in many of the world's wine regions, producing a crisp, dry, and refreshing white wine. We go into a few of these regions so we can compare the difference in style.

Marisco Fernland, Marlborough New Zealand

Pristine aromas of lime tinged nettles, with underlying dried herb base notes. Bold flavors that mirror the nose; round, mouth filling with a juicy acid cut that leaves the palate refreshed and wishing for more. Crafted to enjoy whilst its flavors and vibrancy are at their peak

Michael Lynch, Bordeaux France

The wine has a lovely brilliant pale color with silver glints, and a nose that is bursting with tropical fruits, pineapple, and coconut. The palate is mouthwatering and lively. The finish, persistent, displays lovely aromatic complexity, a touch of minerality and a crisp freshness.

Reverdy Sancerre 2015, Sancerre, Loire, France

100% sauvignon blanc from a single vineyard, vinified in stainless, no oak, no malolactic fermentation. One of the most famous family names of the Loire Valley is Reverdy. The wine is clean, with white flowers, melon rind, and white peach. A surprisingly exuberant Sancerre, which is quite dry but surprisingly plush.

Leah Jorgensen, Rogue Valley Oregon

This delightful and refreshing wine is atypical in all the right ways. Intensely aromatic, it conveys a lush mix of honeysuckle, sweet hay, smoke, lime and honeydew melon. And that's before you take the first sip.

Ghost Block, Napa California

This bright, tempting, and silky sur lie aged Sauvignon Blanc boasts aromatics of ripe stone fruits, mainly white peach and honeydew melon. The wine has lively acidity of white grapefruit and subtle hints of peach and clove.

50% whole cluster pressed, barrel fermented and aged sur lie for 8 months in once used barrels.  50% soaked on skins for 8 hours before
