Wine Tasting: Vinum Importers

Vinum Wine Importing and Distributing

w/ wines from

USA

Let us say Hello to Jessica, and Vinum Wine Importing. They are back with a serious lineup of wines from the left coast of America. Wines from Oregon, California, and Washington will be on display in all their glory. This is kind of the best of the best lineup. Oregon shows us how Pinot Gris can be done in a dry no nonsense way. Washington will offer us a white Chenin Blanc, a Merlot based red blend from Yakima, an amazing Malbec, and a Grenache so good that you will write home and and tell em all about it… And California offers us the classic Cabernet Sauvignon from the classic Napa Valley. This is what I think of when I want a Napa Cab. So good.  So, get here and let Jessica tell you all about it!!

@ Humble Vine, Saturday October 20th, 4:00PM untill the bottles are dry!!! Don’t miss it!

McKinley Springs, Chenin Blanc, Horse Heaven Hills Washington, $18

One of the few Washington producers crafting 100 % varietal Chenin Blanc, as a dry crisp white from, and these from original 1981 plantings. Fermented dry in stainless steel tanks and aged on the yeast.  A pale-yellow wine with aromas of white peach and honeydew with flavors of grapefruit and a bright citrus zest leading to a long creamy finish.

Eyrie, Pinot Gris, Willamette Oregon, $21

Smooth, a little buttery flavor. No pesticides used, harvested by hand. The delicate way the grapes are handled, come through in the smooth, wonderful flavor of the wine. It has quickly moved to the top of my Pinot Gris list! Well done!!!

For A Song, “The Score” Red Blend, Columbia Valley Washington, $

Aromas of blueberry liqueur, sweet tobacco, mocha and bramble on the nose strike a great balance of savory & fruit driven notes. On the palate, the wine is all texture – silky tannins, heady perfume of dried purple flowers and concentrated plum

Dussek, Malbec, Columbia Valley Washington, $22

Dense and juicy, offering muscular tannins behind the roasted plum, dark chocolate and tart cherry flavors. This Malbec shows ample minerality, delivering a rich and savory finish that lingers. Toats Deelish!!

Elephant Seven, Grenache “Yellow Bird Vineyard”, Walla Walla Washington, $34

Blended with 20% Syrah and coming from the Upper Mill Creek area, this offers perfumed notes of raspberries, fresh flowers, wild blueberries, white pepper, smoked meat, orange zest and herbs. The flavors are ripe and juicy, with pure fruit notes that carry long into the finish.

Salvestrin, Cabernet Sauvignon, Napa California, $59

Now, this is a real serious Napa Cab. Ripe, sweet, dark fruit steals the show here, as the wine opens with aromas of blackberry, ripe dark plum and allspice. The ripe fruit flavors carry through the structured mid palate to the bright, ripe finish that is complemented by toasty oak and cocoa powder. Daaang…….
