Wine Tasting

Holiday Sippers

Just in time for the season, these sippers will be a great gift, or a nice treat to yourself. The lead off is 2 bubbles: one from Italy and one from Spain, and both delicious. We take a hiatus WAY down south to Uruguay for a fresh white: an Albariño from a sustainable winemaker that was just featured in the NY Times! Then onto the Reds, we try Syrah! Our first Syrah hails from France and the latter from Yakima WA! (my Favorite wine in the House!!!!!!!!!) The finale is the king of grapes: Cabernet Sauvignon. We compare a Washington dude to a California this round, with some serious lineage in the California Cab (Berringer, Duckhorn). Come and check them out!!

@ Humble Vine Saturday December 1st!! (Holy cow Dec.1st?!) at 4pm till the bottles are dry.

La Bella, Prosecco Rose $10

Bright strawberry pink in color with a fragrance and flavor that is intense, complex, fine, fruity and fragrant. A crisp, fruity sparkling wine with aromas and flavors of apple and peach.

Mistinguett, Brut Cava $15

Light straw green color. Citrusy, exotic aromas and flavors of lime sorbet and leaves and lemongrass-ginger chutney with a round, vibrant, effervescent, dry-yet-fruity medium body and a graceful, refreshing, medium-length spiced green apple and pear and hint of mint finish with fine, chewy, fruit tannins and no oak. A fun, spicy Cava that will be great with Asian foods.

Bodega Garzon, Albarino, Uruguay $16

This winery was featured in the New York Times! Straw gold in color, this Albariño surprises with a fresh and vibrant sensation of tropical fruits in the nose with subtle floral notes. On the palate, it expresses a round and fresh body with a salty and mineral combination. A wine with a marked sense of terroir

Bastide Miraflors, Roussillon $15

This wine is almost too good to be true. A blend of 70% Syrah and 30% Grenache that was brought up in concrete tank. One of the most advanced wineries in the region, Jean-Marc and his wife Elaine are crafting "must buy" wines from the region of Roussillon. The Bastide Miraflors is a blend of Syrah and old-vine Grenache. The vineyards for this wine are practicing organic with an average vine age of 55 years.

Soos Creek, “King Cab” Cabernet Sauvignon, Washington $19

Cabernet Sauvignon has long been called the “King of Wines”. This first vintage is sourced from Horse Heaven Hills, the appellation known for producing Washington’s best Cabernet. The wine offers concentrated blackberry, cherry and subtle spice flavors ending with a long, soft finish.

Et Cetera, Cabernet Sauvignon, California $21

A Collaboration of famous wineries’ Kids!! Berringer and Duckhorn families were raised in St Helena, Ca. where the kids started Kindergarten together. They all stayed in the family business, and eventually opened this winery together. Dark flavors of cassis, blackberries, stewed cherries, and minerals.
