Wine Tasting W/ Jackalope Cellars!!!

Jackalope Cellars

We are pleased to announce that Corey, from Jackalope Cellars, is visiting us in the store!!! Please welcome in Corey and his AMAZING wines from all over Oregon.

“Our goal is to make handcrafted wines that express the unique character of the Pacific Northwest. This character is not just the soil and climate that produce amazing grapes. It is also the collaborative and supportive nature of the wine industry. It is the value people who live here place on quality hand-crafted products. It is community. Every bottle of wine contains a story and helps to create a story for those who drink it. “ Corey

Voyager Viognier 2016 $22

50% Sourced from Serenade Vineyard in the Rogue Valley (fermented and aged in stainless steel) and 50% sourced form Lange of Underwood Mountain Vineyard in the Columbia Gorge (aged in neutral French oak).

Minerality! Spring blossoms! Gobs of citrus! Not your thick and heavy Viognier, this is a lively and crisp expression of the grape.

Whité – A white Cabernet Franc 2016 $28

Sourced from Sam’s Valley in the Rogue Valley. Fermented and aged in stainless steel.

What does a white Cab Franc taste like? It’s everyone’s guess! Citrus, floral, maybe stony? Perfect for summer. Less than 50 cases produced.

Silvershot Vineyards Pinot Noir 2016 $34

Throw in a little bit of whole cluster, spontaneous fermentation, 11 months in older oak barrels, skip the fining and filtering, and here’s what I got from the fabulous Silvershot Vineyards in 2016.

Medium bodied wine full of red fruit, crunchy earth tones, lively and playful as the deer that munch grapes out of the vineyard.

Grenache 2016, $25

A Rogue Valley Grenache with a little Viognier blended in for lifted aromatics and brightness. Spontaneous ferment, some whole cluster and 11 months of aging in neutral oak.

A chewy, brambly, red-fruited bit of lushness. Is that cocoa peeping out? Some florality? Only 80 cases produced.

Cab Franc, 2015, $29

Sourced from Eevee’s Vineyard in the Applegate Valley. A more complex wine; earth and fruit, pebbles, dust, peppers.
