Wine Tasting: $15
Here is the Lineup!
Perle de Ma Mera, Cremant de Bourgogne, Burgundy France $28
The grapes for this (80% Chardonnay, 20% Aligote) sparkler are fermented Methode Champeonoise and aged 18 months on the yeast. The nose is fruity and floral while the mouth is light and round at the same time. This subtle result comes from the happy combination of the Chardonnay "finesse" and the freshness of the secret white Burgundy grape, Aligote.
Lucien Reymond, Sancerre, Loire Valley, France $36
White wine from the Loire Valley - Sancerre - is always 100% Sauvignon Blanc. But, unlike New Zealand - Sauv Blanc in Sancerre tends to offer more peach blossom and honey crisps than grass and grapefruit. It is still vibrant with acidity and lush with minerality from the special soils. I love Sancerre.
Turenne, “Camille” Rose, Cotes Du Provence, France $21
Cinsault 80%, Syrah 20%, Grenache 10%. . The grapes are harvested by hand, fermented with wild yeasts and the wine is bottled with minimal SO2. Camille is pretty in pink. Wonderfully spiced and dry. Notes of wild strawberry, raspberry, and rose. Sassy!
Clos Roussely, “Canaille” Gamay, Touraine - Loire Valley France $19
100% Gamay. To me, Gamay is kinda like Pinot Noirs beautiful older sister who is in college, so she’s more serious, and wears more perfume. She is dark Ruby with deep purple highlights, and emits lovely aromas of raspberries, ripe cherries, wet earth and spice. Get your Gamay on.
Izarbe, Rioja Reserva, Rioja Spain $33
Ahhhh Rioja. Tempranillo aged for long times in French and American Oak. Rich, fruity, with an earthen edge. One of the more intense wines in the world. You gotta try Rioja and mildly spiced food. Destemmed grapes are soaked and extracted for 2 weeks, then aged for 18 months in French and American oak barrels and 18 months in bottle.
