Wine Tasting: WIne: Pinot Noir

  • Humble Vine 824 SW 152nd Street (map)

Pinot Noir

MMM.. Pinot Noir. We taste four delicious samples, two from France and two from America. All different in style. And price points. Juicy southern France to crisp northern Burgundy, then Willamette silkiness, and on to California ripe. I cant think of a better grape for our transition of seasons, leaves, and palates. Come in to try all these outstanding Pinot Noir!

September 6th

2-8 PM

Wine Tasting: $20

Tacherons, Pinot Noir,  Languedoc France   $18

Pinot Noir from the Languedoc! Warm growing season makes this Pinot show  delightful fragrances of sandalwood and plum, with flavors of Bing cherries, black pepper and wisps of stone and tea. A hint of oak to give it a touch of class. It showcases what quality farming and no-fuss vinification are capable of.

Giraudon, Chitry Rouge,  Burgundy France   $24

From the northern part of Burgundy. Rich cherry and raspberry fruit and velvety plush mouthfeel. Subtle wild flowers, cinnamon spice, and damp earth preserved in the cooler vineyards.  And the distinctive minerality and acidity delivered by Chitry’s limestone and chalk Kimmeridgian keeps things vivid and pure and gives this the structured body of classic Pinot Noir.

Le Doubblé Troubblé, Pinot Noir,  Willamette Oregon   $27

Fermented in 1.5 ton fermenters and aged in French oak, this wine shows blueberry and cola aromas, while lingering with a sweet cigar finish. There are subtle notes of cranberries, which help to extend a very full and long finish. We like to think that you could call this a party pallet wine.

Sanford, Pinot Noir,  Santa Rita Hills, California   $47

A mix of the Rinconada and Sanford & Benedict vineyards and spent 11 months in 27% new French oak. Ripe raspberry and strawberry fruits as well as white flowers, spice, and a touch of chalky, mineral-like nuances. Medium-bodied, seamless, and balanced on the palate,. Ripe and juicy but restrained in style, with the core of black cherry and raspberry notes taking equal turns with dried anise, red and black tea and chaparral hints.

Time: 2pm - 8pm or until the bottles run dry!
