Bulli, “Julius” Orange Pet-Nat Emilia-Romagna, Italy $23
Made from 100% Malvasia di Candia, this wine is a beautiful saffron color in the glass and features an enticing bouquet of fresh citrus and yellow flowers. Dry and zestily refreshing, the wine is fruity and herbaceous, with plenty of food-friendly grip and balance. From picnics to barbecues, this sparkler's applications are limitless.
Fuso Flora, Verdicchio di Materica “Salse” Marche, Italy $21
Yellow flowers, honeysuckle, peaches, hints of spearmint, sweet grass and crushed stone on nose. Palate is racy, touched with lime, and flooded with minerals. Verdicchio is the white wine of the Marche - refreshing, versatile and gulpable! The vineyards are on top of a Jurassic-period raised sea bed, near saltwater springs called le salse (from salt).
Gulfi, Valcanzjria Bianco Sicily, Italy $27
Yellow with pronounced green notes, this wine is typical version of this grape with notes of green apples. It is dry, savory and persistent with great acidity. Lots of dried pineapple and chalky minerals on the nose, following through to a full, round and silky palate. Then, a tight, focused bead of mineral acidity kicks in. A blend of Carricante and Chardonnay.
Pieropan, Soave Calvarinio Soave, Italy $36
Pale straw yellow, with greenish reflections when young; golden nuances with aging. The aroma is fresh, flowery with aromas of elderflower, lemon and cherry. The palate is dry, well balanced and elegant, with tremendous length and finesse. Garganega 70% - Trebbiano di Soave 30%.
