Wine Tasting: $25
Manoir de la tete Rouge, “Free Mousse” Petulant Natural Loire Valley, France $31
A blend of Chenin Blanc and three red grape varieties. Hand-harvested from biodynamic vineyards. Notes of red apple, pear, citrus zest, subtle buttery toast with fine, persistent bubbles, and a crisp, dry finish. Bottled unfined and unfiltered with a small sulfur addition. Aged six months on the lees. Chenin Blanc, Grolleau Gris, Cabernet Franc, Pineau d’Aunis
Agusti Torello Mata, Vintage Brut Reserva Cava 2019 Penedes, Spain $28
Cava (and most bubbles for that matter) are usually bottled ‘NV’, or non-vintage. Only in special years do they declare a vintage sparkler. 2019 was an excellent year for grapes in the Barcelona region. This brut is fresh, fruity and yet elegant, with hints of apple, caramel and fresh herbs. A classic blend of Macabeu, Parellada and Xarel-lo that spends three years on the lees!!
Iris, “Arete” Blanc de Noir Brut 2019 Willamette, Oregon $38
Another Vintage Sparkler! Iris makes hand crafted wines from Oregon. 100% Pinot Noir fermented in mature French oak barrels. Tirage, hand riddling, and disgorgment are done at the estate. Layered aromas of brioche, cherries, and flowers, followed by a palate of yeasty, nutty flavors and bright acidity, finishing with rich complexity.
Baron Fuente, Champagne Grand Reserve Brut Champagne, France $49
Ahhh a true champagne. I love a Meunier heavy Champagne… (Meunier is one of 3 allowed grapes in the making of Champagne) The full-body palate offers an ample and structured harmony with wonderful freshness. It Is light and refreshing with notes of ripe white fruit, such as white peaches but also dried apricot. The finish is beautifully long and slightly toasted. The bouquet is all elegance, followed by a strong second bouquet of white and yellow fruit aromas with a hint of floral, honey, and brioche. 60% Meunier, 30% Chardonnay, 10% Pinot Noir
