St Angelus, “Sophia” Grechetto di Todi Umbria, Italy $25
Sophia is crafted from 100% Grechetto from their estate vines grown in Todi. It has a beautiful floral nose with peach and pear notes and minerality creating a crisp refreshing wine with enough acidity that it tastes great with food or can stand alone. Fermented in steel then finished for 45 days in new French oak!
Ulzbach, Teraldago Rosso Trentino, Italy $25
A unique grape Teraldago showing off a bright ruby color. Aromas of red berried fruits and sweet green herbs. The palate shows fresh, fruity flavors of tart red cherries, strawberries and rhubarb with notes crushed rock. Youthful and lively, this sappy little red is medium bodied. Made from 100% Teroldego native to the region of Trentino, in north central Italy,
Allegrini, “Palazzo della Torre Veronese” Valpolicella, Verona, Italy $24
30% of the grapes are harvested in September and dried (appassimento) until December. A fresh profile of Valpolicella grapes with the velvety, smooth sensations imparted by the drying process. The fresh character of cherries, herbs and black pepper is followed by aromas such as smoke, vanilla and chocolate. A long, rich, but agile finish. Not a true Valpolicella because some of the grapes were grown just outside the legal sections, but it sure does taste like it!
