Wine Tasting: Roses and Red Blends

Serious Roses and Fun Red Blends

We will taste two styles of wine. First, in the department of roses. Then, to the department of red blends. All from France or Washington. These are some extra tasty goods. We are welcoming back Melaric, an all-natural, super tasty, and biodynamic rose from France. We compare to 2 top shelf Washington roses: Two Mountain, and my personal favorite, Upsidedown Rescue! We then get into the red blends. More than one grape in all these fun red wines. You have to taste them to believe them!

So, come in to Humble Vine Tomorrow, Saturday October 27th. 4pm till the bottles are empty!!!

Melaric, Globules Rose, Loire FR $23

We start a bubbly, made of Cab Franc, from the Loire Valley in France. This is an all-natural “Ancestral wine”. No extra sulfur added, pesticides, or sugar. Dry and rich with an elegant style. (one our favorite bubbles). Made from a tiny producer in super small quantities.

Two Mountain Rose, Yakima WA, $20

This Rosé opens with aromas of strawberry, raspberry and hints of floral followed by flavors of cranberry, strawberry and rhubarb with wonderfully firm acid on the finish. Excellent. These are sold in a pack of 3 tiny bottles that equal 1 full bottle!

Upsidedown Wine, Rescue Rose, Columbia Valley WA, $24

Nebbiolo sourced from the Horse Heaven Hills. This wine begins with aromatics of strawberry, guava, red cherry, and white peach. There are flavors of strawberry, red cherry, nectarine and starfruit. Lovely and refreshing. Upsidedown wines donate

La Barrone, "Les Lanes", Corbieres FR $19

The estate is Certified organic and they farm according to Biodynamic principles. "Les Lanes" was vinified in stainless steel and aged six months before being bottled unfiltered. It is bright and fresh with lovely red fruit, earth and spice notes.

Ad Lucem Elaina Red, Columbia Valley WA $21

Rhône varieties do well in the long warm growing days of Eastern Washington. Elaina Red has classic aromas of blackberry, with hints of white pepper, orange rind and barrel spice. On the palate, this wine is juicy with layers of berry and floral notes with a soft velvety tannin structure.

Patterson, “Due Anni”, Columbia Valley WA $22

Kitchen Sink World Blend! All grown in the Columbia Valley. Cabernet, Syrah, Merlot, Malbec, Grenache, Petite Verdot, Tempranillo, and Sangiovese!!! Smooth, fruit-forward with characters of blackberry, cherry & raspberry accented by licorice, black pepper & vanilla. Medium-full body with fine acidity and a finish that boasts tannins and plum notes.
