Wine Tasting: Cru Distributors - THANKSGIVING

Cru Selections w/

Thanksgiving wines

Please welcome in Corey from Cru Selections to entice us with Thanksgiving wines.

These classic flavors will add that special ingredient to the dishes that enhance the meal and the evening. We will taste through 2 white wines: a noble Alsace Riesling, and a Washington Roussanne. Both add a wonderful diversity to the food of the table. Then we taste the global release of 2018 Beaujolais Nouveau! A wine made of Gamay that is from France and fresh off the vines! Then we can compare that to a USA Gamay from Oregon. We finish with an outstanding classic Pinot Noir from northern Burgundy. Come and let Corey describe these wonderful wines!!!

@ Humble Vine Wednesday Nov. 15th. 4pm till the bottles are empty.

Allimant Laugner, Riesling, Alsace FR, 2015, $18

Twelve generations of grape growing from this small family producer, contributes to the quality and flavors of this fantastic wine. Riesling is considered the most prestigious grape of Alsace. It is pale in color with a nose that has notes of honey, lychee, pears and tropical fruits, as well as hints of minerals that follow through on the palate. It is a dry wine but can sometimes trick the palate with the tropical type aromas and flavors. It is well structured with great concentration and finesse.

J Scott, Roussanne, Columbia Valley WA ,2015, $16

This is a pretty wine, with feminine grace rather than masculine muscle. Floral and fresh, it smells like fresh lemons and white peaches and flavors follow right along in that same vein. Balanced and polished, it shows exemplary winemaking skills on the part of Jonathan Scott Oberlander.

Vignobles Bulliat, Beaujolais Nouveau, Beaujolais FR, 2018 $15

This is a classic Thanksgiving pairing. A wine that is meant to be fresh, vibrant, and drank young. Like grapes were harvested l7 or 8 weeks ago! This is a Beaujolais Nouveau, all about fruit, super pleasant to drink, organic, vinified without chaptalization, without filtration and without sulfites!! GLOBAL RELEASE AVAILABLE EXCLUSIVELY FROM THURSDAY 15 NOVEMBER. 12:01 AM.  We are getting it one day early!!

Love and Squalor, Gamay Noir, Willamette OR, 2016 $29

The Gamay grape is commonly associated with Beaujolais. This wonderfully creative wine is complex with pepper, cherries, and holiday spices. A bright acidity races through this vibrant wine from Willamette Oregon.

Michel Gros, Hautes Cotes De Nuits, Burgundy FR, 2015. $34

Ruby in color. Intensely aromatic and expressive with more fruit forward notes of cherries and raspberries. Subtle notes of smoke and vanilla, clove and all spice. Very complex and juicy mouthfeel with subtle cola notes and very fine grain tannins. Nice acidity to hold on everything. Beautifully crafted and elegant.
