Spain

with Corey from Cru Selections

Come and experience the world of Spain with our guest pourer Corey from Cru Selections. Corey is a super knowledgeable wine enthusiast. He is going to bring a slew of wines from Northern Spain, near Rioja, which is Tempranillo Country. We will also try a Priorat: a dark red and fruity wine from a town near Barcelona. But we start with a cool, crisp, and crazy white from Ribeiro.

Take a trip to Sunny Spain on Wednesday Sept 12th. 4pm-8pm @ Humble Vine….

Bodegas Casal de Arman, Eira Dos Mouros Ribeiro Blanco 2016 $16

This 100% Treixadura begins with bright aromatics of white peach, starfruit, and lemon curd. Lithe and rich, the mouthfeel is impressive. Fresh, vivid, bright, with notes of exotic fruit, and beautiful minerality. Lovely purity of fruit. Leaves a spicy bite on the finish.

Solar De Alarcos, Rioja Crianza $15

Intense ruby red color, In the nose, this wine is intense and complex and shows off ripe red fruits, jams and vanilla aromas. It is full bodied, balanced, with vibrant fruit and toasted notes. The finish is long and persistent. Serve it with all sort of meats, game, pulse and curedand blue cheeses.

Perez Pascuas, El pedrosal Crianza 2015 $24

A wine that is not sold in Spain, the El Pedrosal is balanced with plenty of spicy notes from the oak and very classical with elegant rusticity, character and poise. The palate is very balanced with some dill like flavors, fine acidity and soft tannins. Very pleasant and easy to drink.

Buil and Gine, “Gine Gine” Priorat, 2016 $24

Dry red wine full of the aromas of the ripe grape, and fresh at the same time. Very fruity. A wine that is characterized above all by its enormous versatility. It combines very well with foods with floral touches, with aromatic herbs, pepper, anise or cinnamon, balsamic touches, toast or pastries, and also with robust, meaty fish.

Lopez de Heredia, Vina Cubillo 2009 $28

Fermented with natural yeasts in large oak vats and matured in used barriques for three years. It shows very good balance between fruit and more developed aromas. Hints of leather and cherries, spices and smoke, very clean and with good volume in the palate with character, finesse and elegance of a classical Reserva.
