Around the World

With this fun tasting we will visit a different wine region with each bottle. Salta, Argentina. Columbia Valley Washington. Emilia Romagna, Italy. Ballard Canyon, California. Monsant, Spain. These bottles should be boisterous with flavor and packed with enjoyment. Come and let us whisk you away on this whirlwind tour around the globe.

@ Humble Vine, Saturday Jan. 5th 4pm till the bottles run dry!

Tillia, Torrentes, Salta Argentina, $12

The Torrentes grape makes the most popular white wine in Argentina. The nose offers aromatic notes white flower and citrus fruits. On the palate, fresh flavors of white peach and lemon give way to grapefruit, and fennel. It finishes with a refreshingly bright acidity.

For A Song, Cabernet Sauvignon, WA, $14

Deep purple with generous aromas emanating from the glass bramble, sweet tobacco and vanilla, framed by luscious ripe black fruits plumb, blackberry, cassis and figs. What a steal. Great Washington cab.

Saetti, Lambrusco $21

Certified-organically farmed, hand-harvested fruit from 50-year-old vines, crushed and spontaneously fermented in small steel tanks. Fermentation is spontaneous and is taken to complete dryness. Secondary fermentation takes place in the bottle, initiated by the addition of fresh grape must. The bottles are hand-riddled and -disgorged. No sulfur is added at any stage of the process.

Avignonesi Cantaloro, $19

A versatile young red wine with lots of ripe fruit intertwined with scents of Mediterranean herbs and sweet spices. Med+ bodied, dense... a wine for a dark evening. Black cherry, blackcurrant, prunes, chocolate bitterness, herbs and medium, sweet finish with tobacco notes.

Stolpman, La Cuadria, Ballard Canyon California 2016 $24

2016 La Cuadrilla pops with a blast of fresh red plum, boysenberry, and blueberry fruit.  Enjoyable out of the gate, the full-bodied wine’s power is totally in check – with tannin and acidity already integrated into the pure juiciness that lasts way through the finish.  This wine is going to make a lot of folks very happy with the crew.

Cellar de Capçanes, La nit de las Garnatxes Limestone 2015. $23

This Garnacha wine focuses on what high limestone content can give a wine – delicacy, elegance and subtlety in its structure, but with an underpinning of intense mineral character, that lifts and freshens the plum and cherry varietal character. It's part of an excellent series of wines showing the effect of terroir, but that aside, it's a wine of remarkable quality at its price.
