GOODBYE SPRING
We have the last few remaining evenings with chill on the air. The final flowering of the gardens and bushes. The fruit trees are starting to ripen. Sun is setting past some bedtimes. Our brows are starting to bead up in the evenings and soon, even the breeze won’t be a saving feature. Goodbye Spring. We will enjoy a wonderful Rose from Zillah Yakima made by Two Mountain. Then a stunning Pinot Gris from Anne Amie. A sparkling chilled red Lambrusco from Italian Paltrinieri is fun. And from the hip winery Darby we get their Bord’feaux. And finishing with one of our new favorite wineries Sonder. An all-natural(ish) Wine maker, also from Zillah Yakima (what is in the water over there?) their fresh and light Field Blend. So, come and have a good time.
@ Humble Vine, Wednesday, June 19th. 4PM, till the bottles are empty.
Two Mountain, Rose, Yakima WA $16
This Rosé opens with aromas of strawberry, raspberry and hints of floral followed by flavors of cranberry, strawberry and rhubarb with wonderfully firm acid on the finish. Excellent rose from our favorite Yakima producer.
Anne Amie, Pinot Gris, Willamette OR, $19
Anne Amie Willamette Valley Pinot Gris is an elegant expression of this versatile varietal. Intensely aromatic powdery floral notes give way to a palate of Asian pear, Meyer lemon and rose petal. Balanced and crisp, this wine is a great match for many dishes.
Paltrinieri, Solco Lambrusco, Puglia IT $17
Made entirely from a grape called Salamino, this has crushed blackberries and plum aromas. Those aromas carry over to the semisweet palate, along with dried black cherry notes and hints of almond and citrus peel. Vibrant acidity keeps it fresh.
Darby, Live Wire, Columbia Valley WA $19
A cool little winery from Washington. A killer wine. This blend of Cabernet, Malbec, Cab Franc and Syrah is expressive and impressively structured. Currant, pepper and espresso notes lead to a focused and persistent finish.
Sonder Field Blend, Yakima WA $22
Sonder is crafting quaffable, Lo-Fi, minimalist intervention, easy drinking wines from the Yakima Valley. This wine is medium bodied and ripping with cherry and raspberry flavors. Not too dense, so the incoming summer heat won’t stop you from enjoying this Patio Pounder!
