Humble Vine, Saturday June 15th 4pm
J Scott, Viognier, Rogue Valley Oregon $19
The fruit for this 100% Viognier is sourced from the Rogue Valley in Southern Oregon. Aged primarily in stainless steel with a touch of oak, this wine is lush and beautifully aromatic with flavors of peach, pear and notes of fresh flowers.
Dobbes, Viognier, Rogue Valley Oregon $28
This Viognier hails from the Sundown Vineyard in Southern Oregon's Rogue Valley, where warmer daytime temperatures, steep south-facing slopes, and low-yields contribute to a wine bursting with tropical and peach aromas, and a rich body with balanced acidity. This wine pairs well with crab
James Cab $16
This California Bordeaux blend is predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, with a small percentage each of Merlot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot. The nose is a rich medley of dark cherry and mulberry preserves with hints of red licorice. It brightens on the palate, with fresh berry fruit and a touch of green earthiness. The finish is long and soft with mellow tannins. The James Cabernet is an ideal complement for a pizza or burger night
Carlos Serres, Rioja Reserva, Spain, $17
Cherry red color with thin terracotta edge showing its longer barrel age. Aromas of mature black fruit, toffee and balsamic as well as some mineral notes. This is a silky wine, but fresh and refreshing as well as elegant and persistent. Perfect for matching any grilled meats, stews or barbequed meats. It also accompanies charcuterie, steaks and even game and stronger cheeses.
Vina Alberdi, Rioja, Rioja Spain $21
Outstanding, medium-depth garnet-red; clean and bright. The nose stands out for the intensity of aromas of wild strawberries, currants and raspberries, against a balsamic background with notes of vanilla, toasted caramel and ground coffee beans. Warm aromatic entry, with good structure and balance and soft, amiable tannins. The aromatic harmony persists on the finish, with marked freshness and balance.
