Wine Tasting: $15

Here’s the line up to shine up

Florence Cellars, Sauvignon Blanc, Columbia Valley   $24

This SB is styled like a fume blanc. Harvested from old vines planted in 1984 in the Rattlesnake Hills, this SB is undoubtedly ripe, layered, and texturally awesome. Seeing 8 months in neutral French oak barrels and complete malolactic fermentation, this wine isn’t the tropical juice bomb nor the lean, austere styled SB, but rather a wine that has balance in spades. Bottled unfined and unfiltered with low sulfur for maximum intensity of flavor. Lemon oil, stone fruit, orange blossom, meringue, pineapple sage, mugwort, underripe mango.

Mouton Noir, “In Sheep’s Clothing” Cab Sauvignon, Columbia Valley $21

Founded by sommelier André Hueston Mack in 2007, Maison Noir's wines are unique and distinctive garage wines. The fruit for this wine comes from Columbia Valley - 60% from the Red Mountain AVA and 40% from the Wahluke Slope. After fermentation the wine spends 10 months aging in barrel, 25% of which is new French oak. This wine fully embraces an integral part of classic Cabernet Sauvignon by highlighting a complex blend of dried herbs: anise, thyme, and bay leaf.

Terra Blanca, Malbec, Red Mountain   $18

This wine is a blend of two clones of Malbec from the estate vineyard, which is aged for up to 22 months in French Oak barrels (30% new). Aromas of sweet raspberry, strawberry and red plum, with nuances of white pepper and spice, lead to bright raspberry and boysenberry with notes of cherry, pepper and anise on the palate. Supple fine-grain tannins, that are well-integrated with the fruit, lead to a smooth, clean finish.

Covington, Sangiovese    $25

Sangiovese, the varietal that started it all. Covington Cellars was founded because of a love for this varietal; and to this day, we continue to make a few different versions of it every year. The Sangiovese is 100% Sangiovese and truly expresses the characteristics of this varietal. Classic example of our Sangiovese, with bright cherry and red fruit, a touch of earthiness, and a steely backbone of acidity. This is Washington Sangiovese at its best!
