Here is the Lineup!
Larchago, Rose, Rioja, Spain $16
100% Tempranillo. A background choir sings of orange peel and nectarine stones, while the organ plays the notes of strawberry and raspberry. The ensemble declares pineapple and citrus to finish this song of Rioja rosé. La la la.
Joseph Mellot, Sincerite Sauvignon Blanc, Loire Valley, France $15
You will have an ace in the hole if you have a few of these bangin’ Sauvignon Blanc around. This wine is sourced from Sancerre and Pouilly Fume which is known for their racy, mineral driven style. I have been calling it a mini Sancerre. Fill the fridge with it.
Sonder, Field Blend, Yakima, Washington $25
Sonder wines strive to make lo-fi, minimally intervened wines. The wines they make are bright, playful, juicy and most importantly delicious.
Unknown quantities of Grenache, Cinsault, Counoise, Mourvedre and Viognier were all picked at the same time and fermented in the same vessel. Aromas of watermelon and strawberry with a hint of raspberry liqueur and spice.
Pranzegg, Vino Rosso Leggero, Trentino-Alto Adige, Italy $30
Nerd alert. Biodynamic and electric fizzy red Vernatsch! Chug this down while you chill another one. Beautiful ruby red shines in the glass. On the nose there are notes of fresh berries, raspberries, black currants and blackberries. Light spicy notes in the finish, combined with a hint of candied fruit. Trollinger, Schiava, or Vernatsch, is a red German/Italian wine grape variety that was likely first originally cultivated in the wine regions of South Tyrol and Trentino.
