Patagonia, Argentina
Patagonia is the southernmost wine-producing wine region in Argentina. Patagonia wine region is often overlooked for viticulture as a result of its desert landscapes and cool, dry climates which do not seem suitable for the cultivation of vines. Despite this, over time Patagonia wineries have become internationally acclaimed for the production of elegant red wines made from Pinot Noir and Malbec grapes. Patagonia wine region is fast becoming one of the most well-recognized wine regions in Argentina thanks to its excellent and high-quality wines and interesting landscapes.

Here’s the line up!
Finca Wolfer, Rose, Mendoza Argentina $18
A light color and clever packaging that suggests the South of France is as good as this gets. A peppery nose with pyrazines leads to a limited palate with grapefruit and orange-peel flavors. A short finish confirms a clipped overall character
Familia Schroeder, “Saurus” Pinot Noir, Patagonia Argentina $25
Saurus Estate Pinot Noir has a striking red color of medium intensity that turns brick red with maturity. The aroma brings reminiscences of flowers and red fruits, as well as fine notes of vanilla due to its slight aging in oak. It is a round and fruity wine, with sweet tannins and moderate acidity. Pretty cool for such a south pole adjacent wine.
Alpataco, Malbec, Patagonia Argentina $18
100% Malbec. “Alpataco” is an indigenous bush that symbolizes the tenacity of life in the Patagonian steppe. Low-yielding vineyard and hand-picked grapes. 40% of the wine is aged for 6 months in French and American oak barrels! Complex nose, aromas of red fruits (cherries) and spices. Structured and fresh palate.
Familia Schroeder, “Saurus” Malbec, Patagonia Argentina $20
Familia Schroeder’s Estate is located in San Patricio del Chañar Valley, at 39° South Latitude, in the wild plains of northern Patagonia, the southernmost wine region of Argentina. This dry and extreme terroir is characterized by frequent winds, cool nights and longer summer days.
During the construction of the winery, fossilized bones of an herbivorous dinosaur that roamed the earth 75 million years ago were discovered, inspiring the brand Saurus.
Malbec of intense purplish red color.
Ripe plum and dark cherries on the nose together with some hints of violets. Mouthwatering red of velvety tannins and a remarkable freshness along with a firm structure.
