Portugal

Portugal is really coming out with some great wines. Maybe from embracing modern scientific practices, or maybe from a slew of new winemakers eager to impress the global market, but regardless we love Portuguese wines. They use very little of the popular varietals we are accustomed to, and are almost always a blend of their local grapes. We journey through Portugal with a Bubble, A Branco (white), and 2 Tinto (red). Come and experience these cool wines from the teeny tiny country of Portugal!!

@ Humble Vine

January, 25th

2-8 PM

Wine Tasting: $20

Sao Joao, Brut Rose, Bairrada Portugal   $24

60% Baga, 40% Touriga Naçional. Grapes planted in clay and limestone, less than 20 km from the Atlantic Ocean. Touriga Naçional gives intense rose petal aromas and Baga a bright red fruit character. On the palate, delicate and persistent bead makes for a silky, rich texture. Bright strawberry and red raspberry on the mid palate, complemented by mineral, white pepper and more floral tones. São João is named after the patron saint of the region of Bairrada from around 1628.

Esporao, “Assobio” Douro Branco, Douro Portugal    $15

Citrusy yellow. Intense and fresh aroma dominated by citrus fruits and tropical fruits. On the palete, its acidity stands out, which together with its volume and texture give it a long and refreshing finish. Made from the grape blend of Verdelho, Gouveio, Viosinho, Rabigato, Códega do Larinho!

Dom Raphael, Tinto, Alentejo Portugal    $21

40% Alicante Bouschet, 40% Trincadeira, 20% Aragonez (Tempranillo). An intriguing expression of black fruits, ripe fruits with spices, and liquorice in the background. Rich and elegant attack, with notes of black berries, mellow tannins, great complexity, and a long spicy finish.

Luis Seabra, “Xisto Ilimitado” Tinto Douro, Douro Portugal    $29

A feild blend color of bright garnet with high-toned red and blue fruit aromas, tinged with wet stone and violets. On the palate, lush, but with bright acidity to balance the red cherry and pomegranate fruit. White pepper, slate and herbal aromas overlay the core of fruit on a juicy, fresh finish. 30% Touriga Franca, 20% Tinta Amarela, 20% Tinta Roriz, 10% Rufete, 10% Tinta Barroca, 5% Malvasia Petra, 5% Donzelinho Tinto.!

Time: 2pm - 8pm or until the bottles run dry!
