Avennia has some new releases! The new Rose is here! AAAnd I am really excited to see the new Sauvignon Blanc! Then for more fun, we compare 2 GSM! One flagship Avennia from Yakima, and the other one is Avennia's second label - Lydian. Both from 2020. Cool right?!

2-8 PM

Wine Tasting: $20

Avennia, “L’Egerie” Rose, Columbia Valley 2022,      $29

Just released 2022 rose! Named after the French word for “Muse”. Aromas of wild strawberry, watermelon, candied orange peel, along with hints of dried thyme, oregano, and wet river stone. On the palate, it has a richness indicative of the vintage, along with beautiful strawberry, deep Campari, barely ripe watermelon, and dried herbs. The finish really highlights the savory wild herbs, citrus blossom, and mineral notes.

Avennia, “Oliane” Sauvignon Blanc, Yakima Valley 2021,      $29

The brand new classic. We love Avennia’s Sauvignon Blanc. Oliane is 100% Sauvignon Blanc, barrel fermented using native yeast and bottled unfined. Pale straw in color with flecks of green. The nose is very complex and evocative, combining white stone fruit, grapefruit, a touch of summer peach, along with a little brioche, sun-dried hay, and a marine minerality. The palate is quite rich, yet cut through with an incisive minerality. Bright citrus and stone fruit lead, with a lot of complex hints of rubbed fennel, hibiscus, golden straw, and crushed flint.

Lydian, GSM, Columbia Valley 2020,      $25

In music, Lydian refers to a mode, or scale that is used as a building block for some of the world’s oldest and newest masterpieces. With these grapes, and the collective talent behind those growing and working with them, Lydian wines can be as complex, nuanced, and profound as any jazz classic. A classic French blend GSM+ Grenache/Syrah/Mourvedre. Fresh and lively on the palate, with strawberry, red cherry, and hints of savory earth, fresh mint, and lavender. A delicious wine.

Avennia, “Justine” GSM, Yakima Valley 2020,    $39

Lets try another GSM! Dark, seductive, complex, with a chasm of depth: The Justine is a great reflection of Avennia’s mission of expression, and Washington’s generous terroir. Showing a medium-dark garnet color, this wine starts with a beautiful nose of dark raspberry, pomegranate, and orange zest, and desert herbs. The palate is seamless and complex, with dark red fruits, violets, licorice pastille, and wet clay.

Time: 2pm - 8pm or until the bottles run dry!
