Lets try Willamette Valley and Columbia Gorge!

The Willamette Valley, rolling hills and microclimates creating legendary wines. About 60 miles from Willamette is the Columbia Gorge. In the Columbia Gorge the convergence of warm days and cool nights along the Columbia River yields wines with a perfect balance of ripeness and acidity creating great wines from crisp whites to robust reds. Lets get into 2 whites and 2 reds from each!

@ Humble Vine

January, 17th

2-8 PM

Wine Tasting: $20

Hyland, Gewurztraminer          Willamette, Oregon     $26

Not the Gewurtztraminer that is often sold. This one is dry, exciting, and vibrant. Classically perfumed nose of rose water, peach cobbler, clove spice and apple mint breaks down your defenses, then the medium-bodied wine's orange marmalade and ginger flavors win you over for good. Fun on the palate and a great winter white.

Swick, “The Flood” White Blend       Columbia Gorge, Oregon $26

A cloudy apricot-colored orange wine full of juicy tropical flavors with light tannins, heavy skin contact (30 days on skins), and bright acidity. Just the right amount of natural funkiness and no sulfur. Finishes with a peach aftertaste with a tangy and dryness. A blend of 5 different grape varieties. Skin was contacted for about  month on all lots. 33% Gewurtztraminer, 33% Chardonnay, 8% Auxerois, 21% Pinot Gris, and 4% Riesling.

Buona Note, Dolcetto “Frutti del Bosco”     Columbia Gorge, Oregon  $34

Frutti del Bosco means berries of the forest. The owner of Buona Note loves all things in Italian gastronomy. And specializes in growing Italian grapes in Oregon. This Dolcetto (a grape of Piedmont) has a peppery nose, leather, verbena, and some bright red berry notes. Traditional flavors of cola, and a main structure of cherry with, salinity, tart herbage like parsley, and an ultra clean slate finish.

Lingua Franca, Pinot Noir “Avni”         Willamette Valley, Oregon $38

Subtle and mouth filling, immediately pleasing and rich. The wine has many layers that unfold with both red and black cherry fruit, tea, rose petal, savory and mineral nuances, finishing with a round, plummy texture. Ripe tannins and a graceful feel, it’s all about purity and freshness with this wine.

Time: 2pm - 8pm or until the bottles run dry!
