Washington!

A well rounded sampling of wines from Washington from 4 amazing vintners. Crisp Sauvignon Blanc from Mathews, Barnard Griffen offers a round blanc inspired by the white grapes of the Rhone Valley, a light and flavorful red Cinsault (san-soh) from 2 Vintners, and a bold Bordeaux blend from Prospice. We are excited for this one!

@ Humble Vine

Wednesday, January 29th

2-8 PM

Wine Tasting: $25

Matthews, Sauvignon Blanc       Columbia Valley, Washington $30

Yellow jasmine in color with flecks of green. Intense aromatics of starfruit, lemony sorrel leaf, juicy green pear and mandarin orange open to honeysuckle and linden flower. Followed by flavors of lemon curd, oyster shell, candied orange peel and flint, this medium bodied, balanced wine has refreshing acidity. It finishes long with briney and stoney flavors that are taught and textural.

Barnard Griffin, “Cotes du Rob” White       Columbia Valley, Washington $30

This well-structured white blend of 75% Viognier and 25% Roussanne boasts wonderful, complex aromas and flavors of citrus, apple and pear.  A touch of vanilla, lime and minerality embellishes this harmonious ensemble, lending the wine intrigue and nuance. A great showing of Rhone style whites from Washington.

Two Vintners, “Make Haste” Cinsault     Yakima Valley, Washington $32

This cheery varietal is most widely known for being a blending grape in Provence, the Rhone Valley, and the south of France. Once you taste it here, you’ll wonder why the varietal hasn’t been more prominent in single-varietal bottlings. Almost Grenache-like in its vibrancy and bounty of ripe, juicy strawberries, raspberries, red cherry, and baking spice, while savory notes of green olive and a wet stone minerality add layers of texture and nuance.

Prospice, “Meravina” Red Blend        Columbia Valley, Washington $30

Bordeaux-style blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Cabernet Franc, 11% Merlot. The aromas offer notes of sagebrush and dark chocolate shavings, wild flower, and dark cherry. The flavors are graceful, polished and fresh. It's a complete delight. Bordeaux-style blend of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 19% Cabernet Franc, 11% Merlot.

Time: 2pm - 8pm or until the bottles run dry!
