Cara Sur, Moscatel Blanco Valle de Calingasta, Argentina $25
Cara Sur is the passion project of renowned winemaker Sebastien Zuccardi, working with old vines at high altitude in Argentina’s rugged Andes. Minimal intervention, maximum character. Bright, earthy, and unapologetically aromatic, this Moscatel Blanco bursts with jasmine, chalky soil, and a lively citrus kick. Fresh and fragrant with a wild edge, it's everything you want in an aromatic white. 100% Moscatel Blanco aged for 8 months in concrete egg with lees contact.
Treanna, Blanc Central Coast, California $26
Treana Blanc is a luscious full bodied Rhone blend with aromas of white peach and apricot. The aromas explode onto the palate and intertwine beautifully with lemon zest and fresh orange blossom flavors. The rich and oily mouth feel weights the wine through the long creamy finish. A bright splash of acid balances this well rounded white wine. The blend isViognier, Marsanne and Roussanne.
Neveu Andre, Sancerre “Le Grand Fricambault” Silex Loire Valley, France $38
Grown in a special soil called Silex, this Sancerre is packed with aromas of bright apple, poached pear, lemon, and grapefruit, with hints of broom, subtle savory spice, and a distinct flinty minerality derived from the silex (flint) soils. The attack is ample and tender, and the palate shows a good balance between roundness and freshness. Clean and lively on the finish, which showcases clean, fruity notes of apricot, peach, and flint.
Leah Jorgensen, Blanc de Cabernet Franc Applegate Valley, Oregon $50
This medium-bodied wine typically has delicate nuances of “early blush” apricot, golden raspberries, Meyer lemon, blood orange, white tea leaf, tarragon, and hazelnut - making up a pretty, complex white wine from red grapes. This vintage, the wine also offers subtle botanical notes of elderflower, jasmine, lime blossom, sweet pea shoot, even a hint of ground cinnamon, with flavors of clementine, lemon meringue, light honey leading into a creamy and nutty mid-palate that finishes with refreshing salinity.
