Our last installment for Washington wine month! 2 whites from Yakima, and 2 reds from the Columbia Valley. We get into a Viognier blend and a 100% Viognier for the blancs. For the rouge we get into a couple of Cabernet Blends. A fantastic way to wrap up March. Hooray for Spring!!

Dichotomy Vineyards, Luminous White Blend Yakima, Washington $21
Moving to Yakima from Australia, Dichotomy vineyard purchased vineyards and are crafting wonderful wines. A blend of Viognier, Marsanne, Pinot Grigio cold soaked before aging 6 months in stainless steel. Fleshy, lively, and bright with notes of apricots, honeydew, and peaches.
K Vintners, Viognier Yakima, Washington $22
Charles Smith uses the “K” Line to show off Rhone inspired wines. Viognier is the top white grape of the Rhone Valley. This has lovely aromas of almond blossom, salted yellow plums, apricot stones, mangosteens and saltines. It’s medium- to full-bodied with creamy, clean layers. Excellent freshness.
Watermill, “Chances R” Red Blend Columbia Valley, Washington $18
From Watermill winery, Chances R is a delicious and approachable blend of predominantly Bordeaux varietals. Bright and fruity on both the nose and the palate. Red and black fruit blend with brown sugar and baking spices.
Pursued By Bear, Bear Cub Red Blend Columbia Valley, Washington $35
Pursued by Bear is the winemaking project of Kyle MacLachlan (actor famous for his roles in Twin Peaks, Dune, and Portlandia to name a few). Bold, full bodied, impeccable balance, rich and deep with dark fruit, boysenberry, toasty spice, cocoa nibs, espresso grounds, finely knit tannins, nice acidity to provide lift. 82% Cabernet Sauvignon 11% Petit Verdot, 7% Merlot
