Fuso, “Teh” Rosso Piemonte Piedmont, Italy $21
Rustic everyday wine meant that is great with food. Lean and bright with a punchy raspberry fruit profile accented by rocky, chalky minerality, good grip on the palate – between Barbera’s vertical acidity and Freisa and Grignolino’s grippy tannins. Simple but not boring. A blend of Barbera, Grignolino, Freisa, Bonarda
Accornero, Grignolino “Bricco del Bosco” Piedmont, Italy $23
The grape Grignolino translates to many pips, or seed, which creates a wonderfully fruity and high acid red wine.On the palate it presents classic notes and rose hips and hints of white pepper and is finally slightly tannic. Its color is a very bright light ruby red. A fun wine.
Chiessa, Langhe Nebbiolo Piedmont, Italy $24
The vines are worked exclusively by hand without chemical intervention. As the property has never changed hands, they can definitely assert that the soil has never been treated by chemical fertilizers, herbicides or pesticides. Matured 12 months in steel vats to retain fruit purity. Minimal SO2 added. Light, fresh and inviting with aromas of raspberries, cherries, red currants, roses, dried herbs, tart, leather. Palate is dry, light, elegant and juicy with notes of cherries, raspberries, herbs, earth, leather. Fresh and vibrant.
Massara, Barolo del Comune di Verduno Piedmont, Italy $49
About 6 years ago Barolo 'Classico' becomes “Barolo del Comune di Verduno”. A village designate wine. A big Barolo that is deceivingly light in color. Aromas of blood orange, tamarind, strawberry, cinnamon, and rosewater, The texture is framed with silky tannins and balanced on the head of a pin. This is a charmer.
