Wine Tasting: $20

Esja, Roussanne, Rattlesnake Hills - Carthage Vineyard     $27

A winery that is fresh on the scene (2020) is owned and operated by Seattle native Tanya Bjornsson. Her parents are from Iceland. Esja (pronounced Es-Ya) is a mountain range situated north of Iceland’s capital, Reykjavik. She has worked in wineries all over the world. She likes to make “simple wines”. This Roussane has mouth watering acidity and distinct honey, floral and apricot flavors.

Devium, Les Collines White, Walla Walla Valley    $32

Devium makes wines that are natural leaning but still have that wonderfully bold mouthfeel. Aromas of lemon blossom, lime zest, and ripe peach skins. Very fresh and zesty, but still rich and full bodied. Equal parts Roussanne, Viognier & Grenache Blanc. Direct pressed. Bottled unfined & unfiltered with minimal SO2.

Mark Ryan, Monkey Wrench, Red Mountain    $33

A Bordeaux blend that is accessible to drink today, with the depth to cellar for years to come. Monkey Wrench gives red fruits cherry, currant on the nose with leather, cedar, and hints of hibiscus. It progresses on the palate with notes of plum, tobacco, and slight graphite. Approachable, medium tannin structure combines with balanced acidity

Mark Ryan, Dissident Red, Columbia Valley    $37

Some of Washington State's nest vineyards have provided fruit. 83% Cabernet Sauvignon from Quintessence, Klipsun and Ciel du Cheval. 10% Merlot from Phinny Hill and Red Willow, with 3% Cabernet Franc, 2% Malbec, 2% Petit Verdot finishing the blend. The Dissident opens with inviting aromas of rich dark fruit, violets, and graphite. Cassis and cocoa on the palate are joined with plush fine tannins and a lengthy finish. 37% new French oak, 63% used French oak - 18 months in barrel.
