Washington!

We have some really cool Washington wines this week. Gard’s, Cab Franc Blanc!, the best Viognier in Washington from Mark Ryan, , a single vineyard red blend from the famed Kevin White, and a  delicious Cabernet from Florence. Don’t miss this one!

@ Humble Vine

June 12th

2-8 PM

Wine Tasting: $20

Gard, Cab Franc Blanc      Royal Slope, Washington    $28

Very cool to see a Cabernet Franc in a white. Crushed and immediately removed from the skins to not extract any pigment. This Cab Franc Blanc begins with high aromatic intensity and a very layered nose. Swirling brings ripe cantaloupe, pear compote, and hints of shiso leaf. The mouthfeel is mouthwatering, pure, and vibrant, with great texture and remarkable volume.

Mark Ryan, Viognier    Yakima Valley, Washington    $43

Oh dang… 100% Viognier An expressive aromatic profile leaps from the glass with layers of fragrant orange blossom, cantaloupe, and sweet melon notes. Full-bodied and lush, with flavors of citrus, pineapple, and white peach. The vibrant fruit is balanced by mouthwatering acidity that adds poise and freshness.

Kevin White ‘Pionnier” Boushey Vineyard Red Wine    Yakima Valley, Washington $39

88% Grenache with 12% Mourvedre coming from the Boushey Vineyard. Stored in all neutral oak the nose shows off beautiful red rose petals alongside red currants, blood orange zest and black tea.  The palate is plush and very fresh with a refined texture. Smooth throughout the drinking experience, with beautiful red fruits.

Florence, “Maenad” Cabernet Sauvignon, Columbia Valley Washington  $37

In Greek mythology, Maenads were the female followers of Dionysus, the Greek god of the grape-harvest, winemaking, orchards and fruit, vegetation, fertility, insanity, ritual madness, religious ecstasy, festivity, and theatre. Sounds like a some partiers!

Plenty of black fruit that come with ripeness, red fruits that come from a cool site, typical Walla Walla structure to the tannins, flowers, herbs, and spices. that one can expect from classic Bordeaux. This isn’t a fruit bomb nor is it a high acid tongue scraper. This is a balanced wine from a single vineyard with bramble fruits, cocoa nibs, bourbon cherries, pencil shavings, and anise seed.

Time: 2pm - 8pm or until the bottles run dry!
