Italy
A juicy Italian Tasting. The citrusy delicious bubbles of Prosecco, to a deep purple Barbera from Piedmont, a rare grape Vementino Nero!, And a nice Super Tuscan blend. (The term Super Tuscan boils down to Tuscan folks growing French wine grapes and adding it to wines from Sangiovese grapes, for a Super Tuscan Blend!)

Rive Frati, Nona Prosecco Veneto, Italy $22
It is dry, it is crispy and is has interesting notes of lime, apple, lemon. Later cream, brioche and yeast notes. Brut nature, high(-) acidity, medium body Prosecco with residual yeasts still in the bottle. Notes of lemon, lemon zest, apple, yeast and brioche. Minerals, earthy notes in the finish. Nice and unusual.
Accornero, Barbera Piedmont, Italy $21
A fabulous example of Barbera from Monferrato. Inky and deep, with tons of complexity, the nose dazzles from start to finish. Black cherry, chocolate, new leather, licorice, spice and espresso saturate the palate.
Terenzuola, Vermentino Nero Tuscany, Italy$25
A truly unique wine made from a grape nearly thought extinct. This lies somewhere along the lines of a Pinot Noir, with its bright acidity and lighter body. Reminiscent of red cherry, raspberry, pomegranate, cassis, forest floor and olive with powdery tannins in support.
Bertinga, “Sassi Chiusi” Super Tuscan Tuscany Italy $32
85% Sangiovese 15% Merlot. Dark ruby-crimson center with garnet-brick tones at the rim. The nose is redolent of black plum, red currants, and blackberry. Savory tones of aged tobacco, worn leather, and dusty earth speak clearly of the Tuscan landscape with its dried herbs and licorice tones. A broad mouthfeel is detailed and rugged in its aromatics, while possessing a softness to the edges and a nice length
